Welcome to Glenview Middle School!

Principal's Message

Welcome to Glenview Middle School (GMS)!

Every student that comprises our GMS Family is a part of a select group who has the distinction of being called “Gators.” “Gators” are versatile beings who have learned to thrive in two very different types of environments. They possess the resiliency to adapt to challenges, the determination to pursue their target, and the strength to overcome opposition. “GMS Gators” share these same descriptors, in that our abilities and drive to reach higher heights of success will not be limited to only one environment. We, willingly, use our skills and our energy to, positively, impact the direction of both our school and our community.

Each GMS student achieves greatness by following a unique path to success. Our students advance, step by step, by setting goals for themselves; by working hard to reach those goals; and by making wise choices to make the lives of others better.

The teachers, the administrators, and the entire GMS Staff value the opportunity to refine the skills of students and to teach them new concepts that will prepare them for the demands of the future. The GMS Staff, gladly, joins the families of our students and our community in forming a partnership that will ensure our students gain the most from their educational experience.

GMS takes pride in reminding our students that the time spent at GMS is what they make of it. GMS encourages students to work hard, academically, but we also encourage students to get involved in the numerous sports, clubs, and extra-curricular activities we offer.

If students strive for excellence in all they do at GMS, take pride in being honest, and make wise choices, they will soon realize that inside them beats the “heart of a Gator.”

GMS Mission Statement

Glenview Middle School in partnership with parents, students, and the community will provide an environment in which all students are encouraged to reach their academic, artistic, social, and physical potential. We will accomplish this by developing the skills necessary to become responsible, contributing citizens in our community.

Health and Wellness

Hand washing is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of infections. You can spread certain "germs" (a general term for microbes like viruses and bacteria) casually by touching another person. You can also catch germs when you touch contaminated objects or surfaces and then you touch your face (mouth, eyes, and nose).

"Good" hand washing techniques include using an adequate amount of soap, rubbing the hands together to create friction, and rinsing under running water.

Watch in this video as our nurse, Mrs. Jacobs, demonstrates the proper hand washing technique.
